What is Pilates

Pilates is a system of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture while enhancing mental awareness. Building upon deep abdominal and back strength, Pilates safely and effectively delivers optimal strength, flexibility, endurance, and posture without adding bulk or stress to your joints. It emphasizes controlled movements, proper breathing techniques, and the alignment of the body.

By embracing these principles, individuals engaging in Pilates—regardless of age or fitness level—can unlock enhancements in overall fitness, posture, coordination, and mindfulness.

Pilates is offered in the following settings:

  • Private Lessons: Ideal for integrating Pilates methods into your body, our experienced instructor tailors individualized workouts to meet your specific needs in this one-on-one setting.
  • Duet Lessons: Designed for two individuals, our instructors craft personalized workouts for you and your Pilates partner, offering focused attention to both participants. (Please note: Duet packages are non-transferable and may not be shared.)
  • Group Lessons: These semi-private sessions accommodate three to four participants per class, offering the benefits of personalized attention within a group setting.
Note: For those new to Pilates Reformer, a mandatory 30-minute assessment session ensures a seamless introduction to the equipment and techniques.

Private and Semi-Private Sessions*

Pilates Reformer is a total-body exercise that recruits every muscle fiber, leading to a strong core. It helps with joint stability and balance and strengthens the abdominals, glutes, and hamstrings; these support the spine and lengthen the hip flexors, which increase flexibility and improve posture.
